MPs raise concerns over Cern value for money

UK not seeing sufficient returns from £160 million annual investment in Cern, science committee hears

MPs have raised concerns that the UK does not get value for money out of its £160 million a year subscription to Cern, the European organisation for nuclear research.

The UK does not do as well as it could in securing procurement contracts for its companies to work at or for Cern, and there are not enough UK scientists employed at the Switzerland-based research centre, MPs fear.
