One year on, how sturdy is the science department’s plan to embed R&D across government?

In March 2023, the newly created Department for Science, Innovation and Technology laid a foundational building block in its plan to “cement the UK’s place as a science and technology superpower”. 

Dsit’s Science and Technology Framework was little noticed outside research policy circles, but it set out a quietly ambitious agenda to embed science and innovation across the entire government. The framework laid out 10 areas of action, each of which was assigned to at least one department.
