MPs hear concerns about pandemic preparedness, with official Covid inquiry branded “disappointing”

Selling a £200 million government-funded vaccine centre was a “terrible mistake”, an immunologist has said.

And the UK is “no further forward” with having a vaccine programme for new pandemics than it was in 2017, when the Vaccine Manufacturing and Innovation Centre was set up, John Bell, regius professor of medicine at the University of Oxford, told MPs on 4 March.
