Prospect union criticises government’s “vindictive, ill-timed and clumsy approach”

The UK trade union Prospect has analysed new visa rules and their impact on science, technology, engineering and maths occupations.

The union’s analysis shows that the government’s policy is a “vindictive, ill-timed and clumsy approach that will impair international mobility and exacerbate skills shortages”, according to Sue Ferns, senior deputy general secretary of Prospect, which represents many scientists.
