MPs told £50 million needed for building repairs at National Space Centre and community outreach

UK astronomers have called for more public involvement to observe the sky and classify data, MPs have heard.

University of Oxford’s professor of astrophysics, Chris Lintott, said: “Over the past 15 years, enabled by technology, data from observatories has exploded, and we need to enlist the public to help classify and sort it.”
