‘Jury’s out’ on keeping Dsit, says outgoing science committee chair

Greg Clark says science risks being siloed in specialised department and endorses Labour’s industrial strategy

The outgoing chair of the House of Commons Science, Innovation and Technology Committee has said that “the jury’s out” on whether a new government should keep the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.

Greg Clark, who announced last week that he was standing down as a Conservative MP before the general election on 4 July, also “strongly” endorsed Labour’s proposals for an industrial strategy.
