Physicist Mark Thomson travels to Cern’s headquarters to make his case for the director-general role

Last month, the UK government nominated University of Cambridge particle physicist Mark Thomson to be the next director-general of Cern. If elected, he would replace Fabiola Gianotti, an Italian who took on the role in 2016.
