Conservative manifesto promises to close courses with “worst outcomes” but does not address university finances
Prime minister Rishi Sunak has pledged to “curb funding to rip-off degrees” as he unveiled the Conservative Party’s 2024 election manifesto.
Speaking at the Silverstone race track on 11 June, Sunak said his party would not “cling to outdated ideas, such as the belief that the only route to success is through university”, and he promised to redistribute funding towards other qualifications.
