The Northern Ireland Executive has announced that it is providing £3.5 million for seven research collaborations involving Queen’s University Belfast and partner organisations in the Republic of Ireland.
The announcement was made by Stephen Farry, employment and learning minister in the Northern Ireland Executive, on 14 May.
The seven projects cover research into wastewater treatment, fisheries productivity, computing efficiency, drug dosing, cancer treatment selectivity, parasitology and the role of freshwater toxins in causing cancer. Queen’s University Belfast will be collaborating with researchers at: the National University of Ireland, Galway; the Marine Institute; University College Dublin; Trinity College Dublin; the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland; and Dublin City University.
