The House of Commons Science and Technology Committee has approved the appointment of Anthony Cleaver, a former chairman of the Medical Research Council, as the chairman of the Natural Environment Research Council.
The committee backed the government’s choice in a report published on 21 October, following a pre-appointment hearing.
