The government’s chief scientific adviser Mark Walport is to appear before a committee of MPs investigating the public understanding of climate science.
The hearing of the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee will take place on 6 November. It is the seventh evidence session of the committee’s inquiry, Climate: Public understanding and policy implications.
Walport is due to cover the role and effectiveness of government in communicating climate science and policies, and how public understanding could be improved. He gave a lecture on the subject on 17 October at the University of Cambridge.
