MPs tell government to track brain tumour research

A Conservative MP has introduced a motion into parliament calling on the government to begin a register of brain tumour research by funding source.

Aidan Burley, Conservative MP for Cannock Chase, sponsored the motion on 18 April. It has six signatures so far.

The early-day motion notes that “deaths from the disease [have] risen by 16 per cent in the last 10 years”. It “calls on the government to include grades one and two and secondary brain tumours in official figures and to develop a national register of research being carried out from all funding sources and by all types of research”.
