Bercow’s inequality challenge backed by businesses

Representatives from some 60 businesses and charities have pledged their support for the House of Commons speaker John Bercow’s initiative to increase diversity and equality in senior management roles in industry and government.

Inclusive Employers, a membership organisation for businesses and other organisations was created in partnership with the Commons diversity and inclusion team with the aim of increasing the number of black, asian and minority ethnic people in management, according to a statement on 21 July.

Participants in the initiative include Tesco, the children’s charity Barnardo’s, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and the Leonard Cheshire Disability charity.
