The UK government says it will fund the ‘sector deals’ used to deliver its industrial strategy through the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, rather than providing separate funding for the initiative.
It made the clarification in a response to the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee’s report Industrial Strategy, Science and STEM Skills.
The document is the last of three special reports that were published on 13 September.
