The House of Commons Science and Technology Committee has demanded the government set out detailed roadmaps for how it will increase research funding by the end of the year, as part of a series of recommendations for supporting UK R&D.
UK Research and Innovation and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy should publish roadmaps by the end of the year to set out how the government plans to reach its goal of spending 2.4 per cent of GDP on R&D by 2027, the committee said.
The deadline is just one of a series of recommendations in a report, published on 12 September, on the balance and effectiveness of research and innovation spending.
