Conservatives Robert Halfon and Greg Clark nominated to chair education and science select committees
Conservative MP Greg Clark has been nominated to head the influential science and technology select committee.
Clark (pictured right), who was universities and science minister from 2014 to 2015 and secretary of state at the business department from 2016 to 2019, is a prominent opponent of Brexit. He was briefly thrown out of the Conservative party last year during Tory infighting over leaving Europe.
