New centres will focus on ‘left-behind areas’ to boost skills, management and diffusion of technology
The UK’s national agency for funding research and innovation is planning to set up a series of centres around the country to help boost economically deprived local economies.
“In our spending review, we’ll be looking to set up a series of innovation centres to support local economies,” Paul Nightingale, director of special projects at UK Research and Innovation, told the House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee on 20 October.
