Science minister voices preference for Aria’s “musical reference” over Arepa’s food connotations

MPs have rejected several amendments to the Advanced Research and Invention Agency bill, including proposals to change the funder’s name and establish links with the national research funder, UK Research and Innovation.

In a parliamentary session of the Aria Bill Committee on 20 April, Labour MP Daniel Zeichner proposed changing the name of the £800 million agency for high-risk, high-reward research to the Advanced Research and Engineering Projects Agency.
