Backlash over home secretary’s claims on international students

   

Braverman says bringing international students’ families to UK is “not contributing to growing our economy”

Students, vice-chancellors and politicians have hit back at claims by the home secretary that the UK is suffering from “a very high number” of international students with families who “piggyback” on their visas.

Suella Braverman told the Sun newspaper that the UK has “a very high number of students coming into this country and we’ve got a really high number of depandents” arriving in the UK with them.
