Russell Group head says UK intake of postgraduate researchers has remained “flat” over five years

Higher education experts have warned that expensive work visas are widening the Stem skills gap by making the UK an unattractive place to work.

Giving evidence at a House of Lords Science and Technology Committee session on Tuesday, Tim Bradshaw, chief executive of the Russell Group of research-intensive universities, said the UK’s intake of postgraduate researchers across all subjects had remained “flat” over the past five years.
