R&D community ‘not sufficiently consulted’ on Horizon plan B

Sector leaders urge government to hold fast on Horizon Europe membership negotiations

Research leaders have claimed that they were not sufficiently consulted on the government’s alternative plans for Horizon Europe—known as plan B—before proposals were published this summer.

UK association to the €95.5bn (£83.8bn) programme has been delayed due to a dispute over the Northern Ireland protocol. The government has promised a “bold plan B” if the UK fails to associate, with funding that would have paid for participation in the programme being redirected into a homegrown alternative.
