Commons committee hears of barriers faced by disabled academics during session on diversity in Stem
Universities should have their funding cut if they fail to provide adequate support for disabled academics, MPs have heard.
Jasleen Jolly, an associate professor in vision and eye research at Anglia Ruskin University, cited government data that only about 4 per cent of academic workforce have a declared disability or chronic illness compared with 30 per cent of the population, and with around 20 per cent in with the general workforce.
