But science minister says advisers gather information on university staff only in “exceptional circumstances”

The UK’s new science minister Andrew Griffith has admitted that his special advisers collected information on the political views and social media posts of higher education staff.

But the MP for Arundel and South Downs insisted this happens rarely and only in extremely serious cases.
