The Scottish Funding Council is seeking views on proposed changes to its Knowledge Transfer Grant scheme.
Each grant comprises a baseline allocation of £70,000 for maintaining dedicated knowledge exchange staff at a university, and a more metric-based formulaic component.
The proposed changes would double the fixed component to £140,000 for institutions that have “higher levels of revenue-generating [knowledge exchange] activity”. This money would only be available on the condition that it is used “in the interest of Scottish economic, cultural or societal benefit” and to help promote collaboration between universities.
