Scottish Enterprise puts £2.2m into oil and gas R&D

Scottish Enterprise, Scotland’s main economic development agency, has invested £2.2 million in research to develop technologies for tackling the corrosion and scaling that cause problems in oil and gas production.

The funds have been awarded to Scaled Solutions, a laboratory specialising in technologies for the offshore industry that is based in Livingston, West Lothian. The company will add £2.9m of its own funds to bring the research budget to £5.1m.

This is the largest R&D project the company has undertaken to date, Scaled Solutions said in a statement on 24 August.
