Scotland drops ‘science’ from junior ministerial title

New higher education minister Jamie Hepburn will be responsible for science despite the title change

Jamie Hepburn has been chosen as the Scottish government’s new minister for “higher education and further education, youth employment and training”, with responsibility for science.

Hepburn (pictured) takes over from former “further education, higher education and science” minister Richard Lochhead, who has been appointed minister for just transition, employment and fair work.
