University consortium plans to shape arts research in Wales

The University of South Wales is to lead a project that will focus on research into the arts and technology in Wales.

The consortium, which also includes Aberystwyth University and the University of Surrey, will support the Digital R&D Fund for the Arts in Wales, launched in June by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, innovation agency Nesta, and the Arts Council of Wales.

The 18-month project will include a number of collaborations between arts and technology bodies in Wales, with the aim of sharing lessons learned and benefiting the Welsh economy.
