The Welsh Assembly has introduced a bill that aims to set legally binding targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as putting into legislation various other means of tackling a range of environmental issues.
The Environment (Wales) bill was introduced to the assembly by Carl Sargeant, minister for natural resources, on 12 May.
It addresses seven major environmental issues: climate change; sustainable management of natural resources; flooding and coastal erosion; shellfish fisheries; marine licensing; collection and disposal of waste; and use of carrier bags.
