Draft budget says it is reallocating some of £53.9 million set aside for student grants
The Welsh government has revealed plans to reallocate some of the £53.9 million previously set aside for university student support grants next year, as it unveiled a draft budget in which it had to make “difficult decisions”.
In the draft budget for 2024-25, the Welsh government said it would aim to protect “as far as possible” support for undergraduate students, but to do so it would be “reprioritising” £9.6m from postgraduate grants.
