‘www’ inventor to head new open data institute

The Technology Strategy Board has announced that Tim Berners-Lee, a computer scientist at University of Southampton and inventor of the world wide web, is to co-direct a new Open Data Institute, announced in the government’s autumn statement on the economy.

Berners-Lee will co-direct the centre with Nigel Shadbolt, also a Southampton computer scientist.
