European funds for Highlands and Islands recovery

Scotland’s youth employment minister, Angela Constance, has announced a £5.7 million European Structural Funds award to the University of the Highlands and Islands to aid economic recovery in the region.

Most of the money will go to the Investing in Recovery project, sponsored by the university and intended to accommodate the higher than anticipated regional demand for university places up to 2013.
