NIHR supports hearing disorder research

The National Institute of Health Research and the British Tinnitus Association medical charity are to collaborate on a project to identify the priorities for research into tinnitus.

Tinnitus, from the Latin for “ringing”, is the perception of noise in the absence of any external sound. It often develops as an occupational injury following exposure to loud noise but there are still large gaps in understanding its causes and treatment.
