Health Research Authority tries out ethics officers

A pilot study by the Health Research Authority has introduced ‘ethics officers’ to pre-review applications to research ethics committees.

The officers, introduced to speed up the ethics review process, will go over researchers’ applications before they are submitted to a research ethics committee. They will discuss the quality with researchers and suggest areas that require further explanation.
