Gene therapy ethics committee to close

The Gene Therapy Advisory Committee, which reviews ethics applications for related health research, is to close.

The Health Research Authority has announced that the role will transfer to the National Research Ethics Committee, London, West London which will be renamed London—West London and GTAC. At least two members from the former GTAC will transfer to the new group.
