Health Research Authority supports streamlining NHS approvals

The Health Research Authority’s collaboration and steering group supported proposals for streamlining NHS research approvals at its first meeting, held on 12 November.

Chaired by Janet Wisely, chief executive of the HRA, the meeting discussed a review of the information that is requested by the HRA and others when completing an application form. The aim is to place greater emphasis on using information that has already been gathered, in order to reduce the administrative burden.
