Former Conservative deputy prime minister Michael Heseltine’s report containing 89 recommendations to improve industrial growth has been welcomed by the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts and Chancellor George Osborne.
Nesta’s director of policy and research, Sian Westlake, welcomed the call for a national growth council and said recommendations on procurement echo Nesta’s call for “a central body providing expertise on innovative procurement”.
