Work Foundation calls on Osborne to back science for growth

The Work Foundation says George Osborne must commit £4.5 billion to science, technology, innovation and regional growth in his Autumn statement next week, rather than focusing on tax cuts.

The think tank says in a report published on 27 November that the chancellor should invest an extra £300m in science to offset the real-terms decline in spending over the past three years.
