Food research gets £23m cash injection

The government has announced £11 million in funding for business-led food processing and manufacturing development projects, to improve efficiency and reduce waste in supply chains.

The cash, which has been topped up by industrial partners, comes from the Technology Strategy Board; the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; the Scottish government; the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council; and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
