Manchester head takes lead at PM’s science council

Prime Minister David Cameron has appointed Nancy Rothwell, vice-chancellor of the University of Manchester, as co-chairwoman of his Council for Science and Technology.

Rothwell, who is also the president of the Society of Biology, has served on the council since June 2011. She will take up her position on 13 February, replacing Janet Finch, who retired on 31 December.
