Space Agency puts £310,000 into cubesats

The UK space agency has announced that 16 research organisations and companies will receive £310,000 in grants to boost innovation in the area of tiny, low-cost spacecraft, known as ‘cubesats’.

Cubesats weigh only a few kilos and can be launched aboard bigger spacecraft. They are currently used mostly for educational purposes but may be utilised for “cutting-edge science or operational uses in the future”, says UKSA.
