The Department of Health has announced plans to set up Academic Health Science Networks to encourage better application of the results of biomedical research in patient care.
The department is seeking expressions of interest in setting up the AHSNs at a local level. Their aim is to improve patient and population health outcomes by translating research into practice and developing and implementing integrated healthcare systems.
