£1.5m for suicide prevention research

The Department of Health has announced a £1.5 million research contribution to the government’s suicide prevention strategy.

The strategy, the first in over a decade, was announced by care services minister Norman Lamb on 10 September. It identifies research into why people take their own life and how it can be prevented as one of six key areas for action.
