Wales goes shopping for research ‘megastars’

The Welsh government has kicked-off its £50 million campaign to increase its share of UK research council funding and bring science ‘megastars’ into the country.

The Ser Cymru scheme, set out in the Welsh government’s Science for Wales strategy in March, will create collaborative national research networks in three ‘grand challenge’ areas: advanced engineering and materials; life sciences and health; and low carbon, energy and environment.
