Government supports need for geoengineering research

The government has agreed that a greater understanding of the impacts of geoengineering is needed in a response to a House of Commons report on protecting the Arctic.

Responding to the House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee, the government says it does not believe geoengineering does not offer a credible long-term solution for tackling climate change and argued that efforts to address climate change should focus on reducing emissions.
