Latest round of BIS redundancies cost £15.5m

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills made 254 civil servants redundant in 2011-12 at a cost of £15.5 million.

Data released in a parliamentary statement by Liberal Democrat MP Jo Swinson, a junior BIS minister, show that the department made no compulsory redundancies in 2009-10 nor in 2010-11.
