Bovine TB spreading at ‘unacceptable rate’, says DEFRA

The number of tuberculosis cases among cattle in England has increased by 5 per cent since last year to 3,941, figures from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs have shown.

The spread of bovine TB also led to the slaughter of 28,284 cattle in in 2012, a 7 per cent increase since 2011.
