Former CSA to lead Future Cities Catapult

The Technology Strategy Board’s Future Cities Catapult will be located in London and the chairman of the board will be former government chief scientific adviser David King.

Business secretary Vince Cable made the announcement on 12 March, saying that the total investment in the technology and innovation centre was expected to reach £150 million, with one-third of that coming from the TSB over five years.

The catapult aims to improve integration of services across areas such as health, transport, energy and public safety. It will work in collaboration with Glasgow, which was announced as the Future Cities demonstrator in January.
