Council for Science and Technology faces triennial review

The prime minister’s Council for Science and Technology will go through a triennial review this year, science minister David Willetts has announced.

The review of the council, which advises David Cameron on science, technology and engineering, is to start this month. It will be carried out by a team from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.

The review will be conducted in two stages. In the first, the council’s main functions will be investigated. If the team finds that the council should continue, a second stage will look at whether it is operating “in line with the recognised principles of good corporate governance".
