FSA’s response to horse-meat scandal to be reviewed

An independent review of the Food Standards Agency’s response to the contamination of beef products with horse meat has been launched, the agency's board announced.

The review, announced on 17 April, will be carried out by Pat Troop, the vice-chairwoman of Cambridge University Hospitals, who was previously the chief executive of the Health Protection Agency.

The findings are to be presented at the open board meeting on 4 June, and a final report will be submitted to the FSA by the end of June.
