The UK government has published a directory of in-house science and engineering capability with the aim of helping senior decision-makers to locate relevant experts.
Information is organised by department, from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills to the Ministry of Defence via the Marine Management Organisation and Natural England. Entries are broken down into staff numbers, individual contacts, ongoing projects and links to other knowledge networks.
The directory was developed in response to a recommendation in the 2012 government science and engineering review, which advised that “in-house expertise [be made more] visible, better connected and better integrated across government organisations."
